John 14:13, NLT: “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father”

When I first started digging deeper into the Word, I remembered thinking “Anything?! Nooo…that can’t be!” It’s true, though. But there is a catch.

Just like we must believe in Christ to have eternal life, we have to ask for what we want in Jesus name to receive it. The reason I was in such disbelief that He would give anything was because I was thinking of marriage, love and happiness. Could God really make the miracle of a godly marriage happen in today’s world? Would He do it for me? But then I realized that the point of my asking is to glorify the Father.

Does marriage not glorify God? Did God not create Eve for Adam? Does His Word not tell of how He arranged for couples to meet and marry? I know that was then and this is now, but He is the same God. Now, I know that there are many things that weigh on the heart of God when it comes to Him placing that spouse in our path. But don’t miss the fact that perhaps what YOU need to do is inquire in Jesus’ name.

My friend, God can and will give you anything that you ask in His name! If you’re desiring marriage, desire it and ask for it in His name. He is the same God and it’s yours for the asking…IN HIS NAME!
