I didn’t stand a chance…God decided my path and my mother gave me up to Him. I can’t really tell you at this moment any piece of advice she’s given me that stands out, or any particular thing we did together…but I remember her reminding me of how she placed me in God’s hands and never took me back.

Makes perfect sense now. My mother is the only person who can calm me ALL the way down when I’m convinced my life is going to fall apart. She’s the only person who can call me out of the blue with a scripture to get me back on track (when I didn’t even tell her I left the track in the first place). But because of her prayers and consecration, she’s NOT the only person who has spoken into my life. Because of her, God has brought people into my life who have changed it…so much that I’ll never be the same.

A mother’s true love is a gift from God. I’m so amazed that my mother’s love never gave me a chance to not know God. So this mother’s day I’m grateful for my mother and her gift to me. It helped save my very soul.

1 Samuel 12:28, NLT: “Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life.” And they worshiped the Lord there”.
