You Know It, But Have To Get Through It

Jeremiah 32: 27, NLT “27 “I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?”

The other day I was thinking about what makes the single, Christian woman’s walk so hard.

I think it’s a number of things. Trying to do things God’s way isn’t always the easiest way. Today its basically swimming upstream. Many times it takes you longer – MUCH longer – than you want to find the right person. Then you get to thinking you’ll never find him. But mainly I think it’s the fact that we simply want what we want and we don’t see any sign that it can or will ever happen.

So what do we do? I could tell you to just draw closer to God. I could also tell you that “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength”. But that really won’t get you “through it” – it being your frustration and temptation to give up and do things your own way. So what I will tell you – what I know in fact works – is to think about the times God proved that He can and will come through for you.

What will this do?

It will remind you of the times you felt like giving up, giving in, abandoning all that you know to be His truth. It will remind you of how God showed up right when you thought it was over and proved that your struggle, your toil, your tears, your frustration were not in vain. And best of all, it will remind you of when you realized how CRAZY you would have been to give it all up for a moment or maybe even a season of frustration.

I’ve been there. I knew God was able, but I had to really know and understand it for myself. I knew it but I had to get through it – my frustration, my temptation to give up and do it my own way. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Remember what God has done for you and He will see you through. Your future marriage was created just for you! It’s not going anywhere and neither is God!
