2013 clearly was not your year in the dating realm.

Don’t feel bad because it wasn’t my year either! Even if you believe 2013 was your year of “Unwanted Singleness” and that’s giving you heartburn because you feel like you’re running out of time, like marriage may never happen for you, that’s actually okay. It’s okay because what matters right now is what you decide you’ll have. What matters is if you believe what God has spoken to you about your singleness.

If He hasn’t said anything to you about your singleness, don’t panic yet…it took me a while to hear what God had to say about mine, and here are just a few insights I can finally share with you on your journey of singleness.

1) Don’t let “marrieds” bully you about being a “single”: The perfect response to a married person who constantly asks you “You’re STILL single?” is “You’re STILL married?!”

2) Don’t put your life on hold (literally) waiting for Mr. Right to show up: Living your life ON PURPOSE is actually what’s going to bring you closer to him. It will make you HAPPY. And best of all, it will make GOD happy.

3) Don’t be ashamed when, at the end of the day, you’ve done all you know to do: Don’t beat up when you’ve done all you know to do and you’re still single. Dating well, marrying well, and having a good life (despite the ups and downs) requires knowledge and wisdom. You get credentials for specialized jobs, right? Believe it or not you need preparation, training and wisdom to become a godly wife. Although I’m still single, I’ve learned QUITE A FEW INSIGHTS that I’d love to share with you on how to prepare for that role!

I’m single, enjoying my life, and I don’t apologize for that. I also don’t apologize for desiring a godly marriage despite the fact that I’ve been told it doesn’t exist today. Stick with me and I’ll teach you all that I know and continue to learn about “finding Mr. Right, living right, and loving life”…GOD’S WAY!
