It’s Time to Welcome in 2019: The Last Year in this Decade

In the hustle, bustle, and glitz and glam of the holiday season, it’s easy to lose sight of the next season around the corner. It’s almost December of 2018 and I can’t believe that it’s time to welcome in 2019! Every year I always see articles and vlogs that ask readers and viewers to discuss what they want out of life in the next year. That’s great, but if most other people are like me, they set new year’s goals and make new year’s resolutions only to ditch them – sometimes not even 2 months into the new year.

Well, this year, I’m going to focus on just 1 thing: what I want my life to look like in 5 years. Why? First, because I know that it’s going to take me longer than 1 year to get there. Two, because 2019 is the last year in this decade. Sometimes the last thing in a cycle is the one to break it and start a new one. While I can’t predict the future, I do feel like it’s time to welcome in a new era in my own life. And though a year is very valuable, where I’m trying to go is definitely more than a 1-year effort.

So in 2019, I have 3 things that I’m going to incorporate into my life even more than I do now: water-only fasting, physical activity, and devoted prayer time with God. While these are not specific goals, they have everything to do with where I’m trying to go. They’re going to be my 3 foundational blocks on which my life (in all areas) will thrive. I know these things work because the times I did stick with them this past year, I saw results and I want more of those results from here on out.

So what about you? What are your thoughts on 2019? Where do you see yourself next year? In the next 5 years? Let’s talk…
